Turning a Blank Wall Into a Mural
A new BigCommerce office came with a lot of empty white wall, and this was a chance to give one of them some personality. I illustrated a large-scale mural in Adobe Illustrator, built from bold geometric shapes, stripes, and half circles that come together around a stylized bird.
The composition sits on a grid of square tiles, so each section works as its own small piece and the whole thing could stretch to the full length of the wall. Deep navy and blue anchor the palette, with teal, aqua, and a warm orange keeping it lively without overwhelming the room.
A printed proof came first to check color and scale, and then the finished mural went up across the wall above the desks.
